About Jenny Halasz of JLH Marketing

About Jenny Halasz, President of JLH Marketing

My name is Jenny Halasz, and I’m a respectable business owner by day, an SEO geek by night. Actually, I’m an SEO geek all the time, because I realize that search is the window into everyone’s dreams and desires, whether it’s a search for a great hamburger or the answer to a complex technical problem. The challenges of information retrieval and understanding user intent are only getting more complex as our young industry ages, and I’m excited to watch these disciplines evolve.

I’ve had over a decade of experience in marketing, particularly search. I’m passionate about using search engines as medium to deliver outstanding marketing campaigns. I’m jaded, irreverent, and impatient, and these elements of my personality make me a shrewd marketer and a fun speaker.

I’ve spoken at most of the major search conferences, I’ve written for most of the major publications, including Search Engine Land and Search Engine Journal, and I’ve held virtually every position possible in the industry, from in-house search coordinator to agency executive. I pride myself on cutting through the fat to get to the meat of a problem and the source of the solution.

If you want the professional description of who I am, my bio is below, but what you really need to know is that you’ll like working with me. I’ll teach you new things and show you how to look at your business with a different perspective.

I have some official qualifications too, I graduated cum laude with a degree of my own design – since most people didn’t know what search was – (Marketing and Mass Communication) from NC State University. That training, while not at all specific to search, ingrained in me the fundamentals of marketing to a mass audience, which is after all, what search is. A minor in Psychology set the stage for my user experience passion. I live in Raleigh, NC with my husband and two sons.
